I purchased this kindle book as I was interested in learning more about Autism. I feel more awareness should be raised in society, and this book is a fine example of that. It teaches how the condition isn’t as restrictive as some may believe. The story unfolds well, and portrays an environment where children’s activities are encouraged by all, regardless. Alongside the poetic verses are some beautiful illustrations. This is a colourful, thought provoking read. The author also explains why the book was written, and in detail. Recommended.

What a stunning little book!! Bought as ebook on Kindle... as someone who worked with children on the spectrum, I can absolutely and genuinely say this gentle and encouraging book would be fitting for all kids with all abilities. The pictures are delightful to look at, the story simple and yet important and would be fun to read out loud and then there is the message... so CRUCIAL for children TODAY! Normal is just... YOU!

Nobody is “normal”!!! This book highlights the fact that we are all different in many ways but we can always find something in common with others if we have an open heart & willingness to & to love each other for all of our qualities even those that make us unique & maybe those we may not fully understand. The world needs more books to highlight what autism is & to show that it doesn’t define a person completely…it is only a part of the beautiful & special person they are. The author is also an amazing resource to other parents…family…friends struggling to understand & help in the best way they can with information & resources regarding children or even adults with autism. Great book…adorable illustrations! In my opinion a must read & a must stock on library shelves!

My daughter and I had the pleasure of snuggling up to read this last night and it was such a treat! It offered us to opportunity to talk about what “normal” means. Absolutely in love with the heartwarming and clever book about what it means to be normal. The truth is all of us do the same normal things all day. We are more alike that we are different. I love how through sweet rhyming and vibrant illustrations this fun book normalizes autism and bring children together. The author manages to convey themes of friendship and family with her picturesque scenes at the zoo, bathtime, teaparty and more. A lovely gift for any family.

I enjoyed this book and the lessons it taught, and so did my boys. Although this book is geared towards a child with autism, I feel like it is applicable to everyone. Everyone has differences which should be celebrated.

I Am Normal and So Are You...
is a beautifully written story that rhymes and delivers a special message of love, uniqueness, acceptance, normal, Autism, and inclusion.
Mrs.Eddy uses powerful words and beautiful illustrations to describe the bond between her two boys despite one being diagnosed with Autism. She addresses their strengths and their weaknesses as they grow to show their commonalities and differences.
She strives to help her son with Autism see that whatever he does is normal. The things he likes and dislikes, his fears and joys, all encompasses him. Being labeled with Autism doesn't change who he is, only how he sees the world. It shouldn't change how the world sees him. He's just a normal little boy.
As an author, I would recommend this story as a great read to help children understand that they were created uniquely and for Greatness!
